On Monday, July 12th, at 6pm the American Center will have a lecture entitled: "Working as a Ranger in the American National Parks System." Seasonal Park Ranger and American Center Intern Katherine Cerrone will present on the history and features of the American National Parks System - from the behind the scenes life and work of the Park Ranger to what the visitor experiences. Katherine is a seasonal Park Ranger at Saratoga National Historical Park in New York State, and works summers as a tour guide, first responder and researcher. During the off-season, she attends Wells College and majors in History, with a minor in International Studies. She has studied abroad in Russia once before, in the winter of 2009, and is now studying Russian language with the GRINT Center for Education at MSGU at Vykhino. She will return to the U.S. to finish her undergraduate degree this coming spring, and from there, hopes to pursue a Masters in Russian Studies. Katherine is from a small town in upstate New York famous for inventing the potato chip.
